The background
As the initial point of interaction for guests, the websites were designed to serve as sophisticated digital platforms—engaging, intuitive, and reflective of the brand’s thoughtful evolution and iconic identity. The project encompassed multiple workstreams and requirements, including full site migration, updates to the Information Architecture (IA), and development of the web design.
Owing to the sensitivity of user data, I am unable to disclose the research findings.
My role
As the website designer, I led this project from inception through to delivery. My responsibilities included defining the design vision, collaborating on preliminary research, facilitating whiteboard workshops, sketching concepts, prototyping, and conducting user testing. I managed the production of final assets, authored detailed specifications, and contributed components to the Libre Resorts design system. The project’s success was driven by close collaboration with clients, whose feedback, guidance, and validation proved invaluable throughout the process.
The strategy
01-Understand user needs and pain points
02-Redefine the user experience
03-Create an actionable, engaging interface
04-Test, iterate, and improve

As the primary interface of the website, the homepage was designed to reflect the brand’s identity while prioritising intuitive access to information and enhanced booking functionality.

The approach
Research was done to determine user needs and customer expectations of the Libre Resorts online experience. After discovering common pain points throughout the brand, I was able to create a system of components that could be used as building blocks throughout the websites, allowing them to be differentiated from brand to brand. In addition to a set of overlapping, reusable components the brand needed some level of customization addressing their specific needs on content development while supporting a wide array of mediums, beyond just web and mobile.
Wireframes were created using the pertinent research findings to help scope the technical requirements, expedite page designs, and determine if additional components were needed.
I created a compelling display that showcased each section and used design to highlight the unique identity of each event.

Dynamic Pages
The types of traffic visiting the Libre Resorts website vary greatly depending on seasonality and proximity to various campaigns. A highly flexible modular design system was developed for the content that can be configured in a number of ways and fluidly adapt to the current content and campaign landscape.

Simple interactions
All interactions are meant to be smooth, uncomplicated, and subtle so that the content is the main attraction and users have an excellent experience.

Mobile-friendly
Given the size of the mobile user base revealed by the research, providing a high-quality mobile experience was crucial. The booking process and navigation were the primary areas of attention for this.
Regardless of the device, ease of use was critical. We maintained the brand's distinctive, design-led brand image while developing a mobile experience that was echoing off the desktop.
